Job Expectations:

In this role, your responsibilities will include developing industrial automation programming solutions HMIs and PLCs, conducting control system startups for industrial and municipal projects, and collaborating with client development teams with the goal of supporting proposal development. This candidate will have the opportunity to practice or develop the skills as a designer providing instrumentation and controls designs (specifications, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs). We are looking for candidates who have a proven track record of programming, testing, and starting up industrial control systems for municipal water/wastewater work. The role requires the ability to integrate and apply our services talent to help our clients solve their most challenging issues. Primary responsibilities include: 

• Develop, modify/improve, test, and startup automation programs (HMI and PLC) for industrial projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients
• Design and development of HMI and SCADA systems per project specifications.
• Develop control strategies that will be used to configure the control system
• Perform submittal reviews from contractors and other system integrator developed automation programming acting as owner’s advisor
• Troubleshoot automation programs for industrial projects for municipal, industrial, clients
• Develop or expand upon design skills to prepare P&IDs, wiring schematics, network and control system architecture designs.
• Work under general supervision and problem solve somewhat independently
• Work and communicate effectively with other disciplines, task leaders, and project managers
• Produce effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums
• Perform in technical role for value engineering and QA/QC or review of sub-contractor work

Position Requirements: 

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, industrial engineering or other engineering degree relevant to process automation control system work desired
• Knowledge of HMI and PLC software and hardware platform
• Minimum of 1 years of experience as an automation systems programmer providing services for government, municipal, and/or industrial water and wastewater projects, or industrial private-sector clients such as pharmaceutical, chemical, food products, petrochemical, or pulp and paper industries
• Experience in industrial process automation systems design, Fieldbus technologies, instrumentation installation, cybersecurity, or network design is a plus.
• Travel away from the home office is anticipated given the nature of the programming responsibilities
• Comfortable and effective with clients and contractors as direct interface
